Get your trips in the Logbook

New feature in the Verna app 🚀

Many receive reimbursements from an employer for company-related driving. These reimbursements are tax-exempt if you keep a mileage logbook to document where you drove, the distance in kilometers, the date, and the purpose of the trip. That’s where we come in - trip details are automatically recorded and you can access a summary anytime. No hassle, no fuss 🤝

Verna’s logbook is now available in "beta version," meaning customers can try it free of charge until December 31, 2024, when the final version will be launched.

Get a summary 🔎

At the end of the month, you can get a summary for your logbook and send it to your employer for reimbursement. At the end of the year, you’ll receive a full summary that you can use in your tax filings with Ríkisskattstjóra to ensure these earnings remain tax-exempt.

Free until desember 31st 📣

You can try the mileage logbook for free until December 31, 2024. After that, customers insured with Verna will pay 595 ISK per month, while other users will pay 895 ISK. No commitment period – you can cancel your subscription to the logbook at any time.

Any questions?

  • Many individuals receive reimbursements from their employer for business-related driving. These reimbursements can either be in the form of fixed monthly travel allowances or reimbursements per kilometer driven in a month. These reimbursements are tax-exempt, provided the individual maintains a logbook to document the destination, number of kilometers, date, and purpose of each trip.

  • It’s easy to cancel your subscription. Select the profile tab in the top left corner when you open the app, go to user settings, choose the mileage logbook, and click on Cancel Subscription.

  • To claim reimbursement for trips, two conditions must be met: The employee’s employment agreement must provide for such reimbursements and the reimbursements must meet the criteria set by RSK, which you can read about here. Commutes to and from work are not reimbursable, but most other trips conducted on behalf of the employer are eligible for reimbursement.

  • Sometimes a trip that should be in the logbook may not appear in the app, but you can easily add it manually. Follow these steps: 1. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner. 2. Select Add Trip. 3. Choose the vehicle number, the trip date, and the purpose. 4. Enter the starting point and destination, then confirm the number of kilometers driven. 5. Press Save Trip, and the trip will appear in your list of recorded trips.
